Orthodox economists approach the issues of power and culture from the viewpoint of utility calculation. Radical cultural constructionists claim that signification is the base on which both economy and organized use of power rests. Analysts of power insist that power is everywhere, and that the real task here is to study the transforming dispositif’s, or mechanisms of power. Field theorists of different types add yet another aspect to the debate, and actor network theorists claim that everybody else has up to date neglected the material aspects of power, culture and the economy and suggest the study of agencement.
