Organisation profile

System-on-Chip design research centre SoC Hub integrates expertise in digital design, multiprocessor system design, embedded software, microelectronics, electronics and process management for wireless communications, signal processing and security applications. The centre brings together all related research groups and researchers at Tampere University. System-on-Chip (SoC) design is a multidisciplinary and labor-intensive process that requires collaboration within a large team. The core mission of SoC Hub is to bring together diverse research domains to achieve results that would be unattainable independently. SoC Hub is aligned with the objectives of the EU Chips Act, contributing to the strengthening of Europe’s technological sovereignty. Its ambition is to grow from a regional initiative into a national ecosystem and ultimately be recognized as a competence cluster at the EU level. This development is supported by the Tampere Chip Programme, led by Business Tampere, with which SoC Hub maintains close cooperation.

UN Sustainable Development Goals
