Organisation profile

We develop technologies and methods to create electronics in sustainable, economical and globally efficient ways to help develop modern society. Our research includes a range of activities on electronics and embedded systems, including printed electronics, thin-film devices and circuits, RF and antenna technology, and low-level software, for industrial, healthcare, and consumer domains. We investigate and develop technology solutions related to ambient intelligence, sensors, user interfaces, wearable electronics including smart textiles and health patches, stretchable electronics, wireless biomedical implants, structural electronics, IoT-devices, energy harvesting and storage, low-power applications, and energetic systems. We are a strong collaborator with industry and academic units. Major part of our research funding is from European Union, Business Finland, Academy of Finland, and industry.
