Personal profile
Profile information
I am a doctoral researcher at Tampere University and an author. In my research project I am exploring a postmigrant perspective on belonging of racialized young adults in Finland and Germany. I am especially interested in analyzing how belonging is negotiated in an age of far-right success, the impact of racism, in which ways resistance is possible and how possible postmigrant futures are being constructed.
Generally, the topics migration as a societal norm, anti-immigration narratives, colonial continuities, remembrance and memory in immigrant societies, postmigrant imagination and futures intrigue me.
I have published several poems and some prose over the last few years. In 2021, I have written a poetry performance with texts on migration and racism in Germany which I performed in different cities. In the following years I co-authored two anthologies on work migration in Germany ("Und so blieb man eben für immer". Gastarbeiter:innen und ihre Kinder 2023; Von Gästern und Geistern 2024).
