Research interests

I am a network scientist fascinated by the applications of network science in studying diverse real-world systems. My research has two principal foci: (i) questioning established but insufficiently validated methodological assumptions of network neuroscience and developing novel, advanced and accurate models for brain function, including optimized preprocessing pipelines and top-noch node definition approaches, and (ii) introducing network analysis in fields where it is less frequently applied, e.g., tree physiology and climate policy studies. In my current main project, I develop models for human brain function based on the theory of multilayer and temporal networks. My primary research goal is to model the brain as a multilayer network with time-dependent, optimized nodes, and to apply this model to investigate the brain function during both individual tasks and social interaction.
