Description
The increased use of ICT-enriched machines by machine manufacturers underscores the need to rethink service operations. Data-enabled service operations involve not only machine manufacturers but also their customers, collaborators and intermediaries in the industrial networks. This study pursues increased understanding on how interdependent companies integrate to advance data-enabled service operations in industrial networks. The research will be based on case studies involving machine manufacturers and their customers, collaborators and intermediaries. In doing so, it will offer new insights on the different types of data-enabled service operations, adaptations in business models and alternative approaches to integrate companies in industrial networks. Drawing on the findings, the study will develop a framework for managers to establish suitable structures, processes and relationships to manage data-enabled service operations in their networks.
