Project Details

Description

Instruct-Suomi is a national, distributed, open-access research infrastructure providing structural biology. It supports state-of-the-art research in protein and biomolecular complex identification, production, purification and characterization; cryo-electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, native mass spectrometry, structural bioinformatics and X-ray crystallography. As Instruct-Suomi coordinates and spearheads international research and development in biocomplex analysis and crystallographic data management, these are the focus of this application. Instruct-Suomi serves the whole research community in academia and industry. Societal impact is in patent applications, start-ups, diagnostic and therapeutic tool developments. Finland is entering the Instruct-ERIC as a Member in 2019, and as a result, funded access to the top-class ESFRI Instruct-ERIC infrastructure, expertise and methods will be available to all Finnish researchers to boost their international research profile.
