Abstract

Theoretical and methodological basis of new issues of the series “New in Russian
vocabulary. Dictionary materials (2015–2020)” based on the material of the issue
2016 is analyzed in the article. The relevance of the topic is connected with the work currently underway on three multi-volume explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language. The lack of neography materials of lexical innovations of the 2000s-2020s makes it difficult to compile them. The purpose of the study is to answer the question to what extent the renewed edition continues the traditions of this series and whether it can be considered as a neological source of explanatory dictionaries. The task of the study is to analyze the sources of this series and vocabulary material in it. The methods are comparative and statistical analysis. Conclusions: the renewable edition belongs to the genre of "dictionary materials" and differs significantly from the original series conceived by N.Z. Kotelova. The neological dictionary reference for ten years is the most optimal source of new vocabulary for explanatory lexicography.
