    Abstract

In this paper, we provide an overview of terminological projects involving Russian which have been carried out at the Department of Translation Studies and Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education of the University of Helsinki in the 2000s. Some of these projects were aimed at compilation of traditional bilingual and multilingual terminological dictionaries and glossaries, others were set up to create terminological content for various computer applications, and yet others had as their goal the development of innovative platforms and methodology for terminology work. Most projects were funded by the EU–Russia Neighbourhood Programmes, EU structural funds, and Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes). Partnership organisations on the Russian side have included various higher education organisations, such as Moscow State University and Saint-Petersburg State University, as well as IT companies and organisations, such as Saint-Petersburg Information and Analytical Center, JSC Corporate TrainingSystems, PROMT, and Speech Technology Center.
