Abstract

The introduction of low cost and versatile CAD and CAE tools enable fast product development with simulation tools integrated in Computer Aided Design. The paper shows a case study with a example of simple product, how customer, foundry near consultant, and foundry together can simplify product development. The customer in future can be a brand owner, designing only product system, and foundry and consultant can serve the customer with detail designing beginning from part surface specification model. Specilisaiton is increased, and customer can concentrate on product competence instead of manufacturing knowledge.
