    Abstract

Air quality contributes a major role in human performance especially in close environment where it is crucial to have an air quality management & control system, implemented in places with high occupancy like schools and multi-story offices or buildings. The work modifies the existing air quality management equipment already placed in industries and offices with high occupancy. The modified system is cost effective yet with same results and response time compare to commercial systems. Beside industries it can be used in households or shops. The main objective of this paper is to design an autonomous system to detect smoke, carbon mono oxide and other toxic gas in close doors with high occupancy. The hazardous gases like liquid petroleum gas(LPG), Methane, Carbon-Monoxide, Propane and Smoke, in addition to over temperature, were sensed and displayed continuously on the LCD and a popup alarm will be generated if any of the said elements cross specified ranges. In addition to this, the information is also transmitted to the command and control center over a wireless link, where an alarm is generated. The benefit of the proposed automatic detection and responsive system over the traditional scheme is the swift reaction with precise recognition in case of emergency, that can help to quickly diffuse the serious situation if arise. Having experience of various industrial and commercial audits, it is concluded that such type of devices are much needed in both safety and performance aspect. Besides that, central HVAC systems required certain level of air changes as the loss of chilled air is directly related to the loss of energy in building so the proper monitoring of above mention gasses are very important.
