Abstract

This report presents insights from 12 demonstration cases in the four CIRCuIT cities. The demonstrations address concrete locally anchored barriers and opportunities for implementation of regenerative construction practices.

It finds that application of regenerative design measures, specifically design strategies of adaptability and disassemblability, require careful consideration of project specific circumstances. If project specific conditions are not properly evaluated, such design strategies may cause unintended increased project cost both environmentally and economically.

Still such practices also hold the potential to unleash long term benefits, through enabling future cost and environmental savings due to mitigation of future excess resource use.
