Abstract
The LUONTEVA project, in collaboration with universities and institutes, develops nature-based, energy-efficient construction solutions. It focuses on carbon-wise insulation using mycelium-based composites (MBCs) for eco-friendly insulation and modular green wall solutions. MBCs use fungi like Ganoderma lucidum, Phlebia tremellosa and Pleurotus floridanus to transform regional industrial waste into lightweight construction materials. LUONTEVA also reviews carbon retention in materials and simulates green wall impacts on building envelopes. The presentation will cover the current project activities and preliminary project results, with a focus on the physical properties of MBCs in building structures.
