Abstract
An efficient change management process is vital to companies in order to continuously improve their products. The processing times for Engineering Change Requests (ECR) vary from hours to years. The long processing times lead to unnecessary delays to requested fixes and improvements. This paper is based on analysis of Engineering Change Objects and semi-structured interviews in a case company, where the number of ECRs has been increasing significantly. The goal of the research was to find out reasons for varying ECR processing times. However, analyzing the data afterwards is difficult because part of the modification history disappears during the process.
