Abstract

Risk is an inherent and definitive feature of innovations and related activities. This article furthers the risk management discussion around digital innovations by focusing on the financial risks of unsustainability. Utilizing the framework of the ‘financial risks of unsustainability’ à la Sjåfjell and conceptually discussing its different dimensions in the context of digital innovations results in the development of a tentative intellectual framework for taking the financial risks of unsustainability comprehensively into account when evaluating and financing innovations.
