Abstract
Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies are increasingly used in the manufacturing industry. The successful implementation of AM requires finding the right applications for the production as well as the right partners for supply chain and the combination deserves further research. This multiple case study seeks new knowledge on supply chain innovations related to AM product innovations. The findings reveal how a supply chain innovation is triggered in a company network by implementing new AM product innovation into production. This study expands knowledge on the contextual triggers for supply chain innovations and offers insights of successful AM implementation.
