Impoverishment or standardisation? Findings from a corpus-based study of treaty language

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterScientificpeer-review

Abstract

This paper introduces a corpus-based study of the language of Russian-Finnish bilateral treaties, based on STTR value trends for a period of 100 years. The findings indicate that the diversity of vocabulary in both Russian and Finnish texts is decreasing, which can most probably be attributed to the standardisation of the text type.
