Abstract

We examine practice disengagement as a transformational consumption journey, rather than a singular decision/behavior. Our qualitative data reveal that the practices consumers strive to cease are embedded within dynamic systems of practices. Consumers’ transformational journeys require practice reconfiguration among practice elements (materials, meanings and competences) and systems of practice.
