Abstract
This paper presents a numerical implementation for a model of isochoric magneto-elastic deformation describing the coupled behavior between the mechanical stress and magnetic field strength. The field depends on the strain state of the material and vice-versa. Simulated results by means of 2D finite element software are compared with experimental observations on a test device. This comparison assesses the validity of the developed method and strengthens the described model. The influence of the electromagnetic stress tensor contribution in iron is discussed. This study brings an original insight on the challenging topic investigated in the past from different perspectives.
