Abstract

At present, several alternative approaches of selecting clinical variables on which to base a diagnosis are already available. One such approach is a model-based technique utilizing artificial neural networks (ANNs). Two different ANN techniques (SOM and BPNs) are used to objectively investigate chosen data input sets. Results show that both can aid in clinical decision making.
