TThe presentation addresses the issue of student leadership from the perspectives of leader identity building, leadership education and student engagement in higher education. Development of leader identity in higher education is a process that happens through formal and informal higher education activities. Thus, leadership educators need to consider the diversity of student identities and roles in higher education, support the process of leadership development through engagement in formal and informal environments by creating partnerships between curricular and extra-curricular activities.
