Defining requirements of a risk assessment tool - a case in industrial maintenance

    Tutkimustuotos: KonferenssiartikkeliTieteellinenvertaisarvioitu

    Abstrakti

Industrial maintenance1operations involve various occupational risks. Despite the accidents that have occurred, there has not been any task-based risk assessment tool for companies. A study was carried out with the aim of defining the requirements for a task-based risk assessment tool for industrial maintenance. The study charted risks on sites, the occurrence and type of severe and fatal accidents, and companies’ practices and problems in risk management. On the basis of the findings, requirements for a task-based risk assessment tool were defined. The tool must be easy to use and suitable for all working environments. It must also take into account planning of maintenance operations, risks relating to the maintenance operations, and workers’ performance.
